August 11, 1947: Balochistan's Declaration of Independence

​On August 11, 1947, following the end of British rule, Balochistan declared its independence as a sovereign state. The declaration was reported by The New York Times on August 12, 1947.
Historical records indicate that the decision was subsequently endorsed by both houses of the Kalat State's Parliament.
