Cataclysmic Consequences of Pakistans Nuclear Testing In Balochistan
May 28th 2015 marked the seventeenth anniversary of five underground nuclear tests conducted in the Chagai area of Baluchistan by the Pakistani government. The effects upon the civilian population and environment of Balochistan were drastic. Due to the secretive nature of the tests, the indigenous Baloch people in the Chagai region received no advance warning. In the years following the nuclear blasts; Baloch civilians have described severe long-term health and environmental effects that may be attributable to nuclear testing in the region.
