Pakistan Army Engaged in Genocidal Military Operations at Awaran Balochistan
For nearly a month now the Pakistan Army has besieged dozens of villages at Awaran and surrounding areas of Occupied Balochistan. On July 18th during the sacred Islamic festival of Eid al Fitr; the Pakistan army began a series of full scale military operations in Awaran and Mashkay regions using heavy artillery, gunship helicopters and fighter jets to indiscriminately decimate the impoverished communities of the region.
In order to facilitate the construction of the CPEC projects, more than 20 villages have been completely destroyed by the Paksitan Army. At least 200 people have been killed and more than 700 people are missing; hundreds more have been injured and are being denied medical care. Innumerable homes have been reduced to smoldering ruins and thousands of survivors are left homeless and destitute. The countless people displaced by Pakistan's military aggression have been left to fend for themselves in Balochistan's harsh environment; without any food water or shelter.
Activists and human rights defenders on Social media have been trending the #AwaranOperation hashtag in an effort to create international awareness of the severity of the perpetual military operation in Awaran; and urge the international community to take action against Pakistan's blatant disregard for International Human Rights Laws.
